Sick Days

We have had a go with a couple of bugs in our house over the last few days.  The yuckiness started for Ella on Sunday.  The poor girl couldn't keep anything down for 24 hours.  But look at these sweet cuddle smiles :)

And then Ava girl spiked a temp on Monday night.  She keeps telling us that she's not sick but her high temp and agitated attitude voice otherwise.  But on the plus side I got to watch movies and play games with her today :)

Ella's First KState Games

Most of you already know how important KState football is to this family.  Not only because we love our team but also because KState football means family weekends tailgating, hanging out in Manhattan, and relaxing with the family.  At no other time in the year do we get to see each other this much.  We love this time together!

And seriously...not only do these girlies know what a touchdown, field goal, and first down are (and the appropriate arm motions for each ;)) but they are the cutest KState fans I've ever seen.

Slumber Parties!!

The girls love their slumber parties!  They ask to sleep in each other's room all the time but with school and daycare we have made Friday nights...Slumber Party Night in our house.  They love it and often stay up way later than their parents.  I love that they love spending time together.  So many times we can hear them giggling through the monitor but have no idea what they are talking about.  Love those sweet girls and their giggles :)

Three Months Together

Holy moly!!  Where does the time go?  Seriously?!!  We met with some friends who we met in China today and we were all talking about how the time has flown by but also feels like the girls have been in our lives forever...it's hard to remember life before them.  I keep hoping the time will slow down a little but it seems to go faster and faster.

Ella, you continue to amaze us with your ability to adapt!  You are a part of our family and feel as if you have been forever!  You keep us on our toes ALL THE TIME!  We love your energy, your spunkiness, your smile, and your laugh.  We see lots of smiles but you don't give them up easily.  And you save your sweet laugh for even more special occasions.  You just like to play hard to get ;)  We could not love you more Ella.  Can't imagine life without you.  Love you!

3 Month List:

1.  You LOVE your sister!!  I know I started with this one last month too but I love watching your bond with your sister.  You girls definitely have good days and bad days but the good days way outweigh the bad ones by a long shot.  And let's be real; you're sisters, so everyday is not going to be perfect.  Lately you girls have wanted to sleep with each other and have slumber parties.  We've made Friday nights, slumber party nights.  You girls get ready for bed and curl up in Ava's bed.  Sometimes you read books together, other times you watch movies, and lots of times you just talk in your own language and giggle a lot.  Always you girls are awake later than Mama and Baba!

2.  You've survived your first 3 weeks of daycare, 2 of those weeks were full time.  The first 2 weeks you usually cried at drop off but then you were fine and had a blast the rest of the day.  This last week you haven't even been crying a all.  In fact you have been walking into your room, go to give your teacher a hug, blow us kisses, and you go sit down for breakfast.  You blow us away with your adaptability!!

3.  Your behaviors are getting better all the time.  We started with hitting, scratching, and pinching but have really gotten rid of them except for the very occasional scratch or hit.  We still have some progress to make in this area but you have come a long ways.  It's definitely hard to learn how to use your words or to be okay with not getting your way.  It depends on the day on how you respond to these situations.  We are proud of the progress you've made in this area.

4.  You'll watch tv shows if you are super tired :)  We prefer it that way most of the time anyways.  Daniel Tiger, CareBears, and Madagascar are favorites when you do watch tv.

5.  You went to your first KState football game!!!  And you did great!  We tailgated prior and you were way more interested in blowing bubbles with Pappy than eating.  The game was an evening game and you didn't have a nap so Mama was worried about how you'd do but you were a natural.  You were entranced with all the people and music.  And you already have down the "Good for a Wildcat...Touchdown!!"

6.  You are talking more and more all the time.  You caught on to English quickly and have understood most of what we've said to you since early on.  But recently you have started talking a lot more.  It's sometimes hard to understand what you are saying because of your cleft but I can normally understand since I'm Mama :)  I am really eager for your cleft palate repair surgery in October because then we'll really be able to tell how much language you've picked up.  But I'm betting you're a pro!

7.  You love noodles!!  You are a little picky eater but noodles never fail.  Noodles can mean Chinese Lo Mein or spaghetti, macaroni, or really any dish that has pasta in it :)  A girl after my own heart!   You also love yogurt, hotdogs, turkey lunch meat, mandarin oranges, pears, peaches, eggs, pancakes, and milk.

8.  You love your Ella blanket, purple Sofia blanket, grey elephant, and jaguar.  These are prized possessions.

9.  One of your new favorite things to do this month is puzzles.  Your sister also loves puzzles.  You two spend a lot of time putting them together.  You are getting really good a the chunky piece puzzles.   Your favorites are a numbers puzzle and a farm animal puzzle.

10.   You are the best snuggler!  You don't often slow down enough to allow anyone to snuggle with you but when you get sleepy or get hurt you are the best snuggler.  I take full advantage of those times and have been loving that you want to be rocked to sleep lately.
