Ru Has a Family

Today we learned that Ru has a family!!  Some of the best news we've ever had.  We are so thankful that God always has a plan.  Even though we don't always understand the plan, we do trust that Ru is with the family he was always meant to be with.  Ru and his new family will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers always.

Our Girl

Ava is our fun loving, goofy girl with a beautiful heart who keeps us laughing on a daily basis.  As her vocabulary seems to be growing at an exponential rate, the things that come out of her mouth just get funnier.  I'm always trying to catch things that she is doing or saying on video or at least write them down because as quick as she is growing up, I know that I will not be able to remember everyone of these precious moments.  Sometimes I would just like to bottle up little parts of her so that I can keep her little forever...probably won't work no matter how hard I try...right moms?

Some of my favorite "Ava Things" lately include:

"Baba Man"  This is what she calls her dad on a regular basis.  Baba means dad in mandarin and she just added her own twist to it!

Ava loves her friends and cousins.  It's so fun to sit and listen to little people conversations.  But my favorite is seeing Ava's huge heart through these relationships.  She loves the time she gets to speed with her friends and cousins.  She greets them with hugs, gets a few hugs in throughout the day, and then again to say goodbye.  The other day she was heart broken after daycare because one of her best buddies had left for the day and she wasn't able to say goodbye.  I pray she always has a kind heart that the world cannot squish.

Ava hugs are the best!!  She is so good about wrapping her arms all the way around you but then she just pats her hands on your back until she is ready to let go...the best!

She is in awe of the moon.  Every time she sees it, she points it out and we talk about it's shape for the night.  I love the time we spend outside together as a family looking at the moon in wonder.  I love that she reminds us how amazing those things are that we take for granted daily without the reminder for our 3 year old.

Ava sings ALL the time!  In the car, on walks, in the store...you name a place to be and our girl will be singing!

The girl loves her KState Wildcats!  Tonight as we were tucking her into bed and talking about how great the weekend was, Ava quickly added, "And the Wildcats win!"  That's our girl!

Waiting for "The" Call

Sometimes the waiting can seem so long.  Every time the phone rings you wonder, "is this the call?" The most amazing call that lets us know that our family is about to grow again.  We have heard that adoptions out of China have recently slowed some and we wonder why when we know; we have seen with our own eyes thousands of precious kids just waiting for a forever family to come and get them.  We are praying that the next time the phone does ring and it is the call that things go smoothly and without any major hangups.  We pray that the Lord would give us wisdom and a peace when it is our time.  Until that time comes we will continue to pray for our baby in China; praying that they are loved, healthy, receiving the care they need, that they have a warm bed, and a roof over their head.  Until we receive that precious call we will continue to trust that God knows what He is doing and trust that His timing is much better than ours.

We love you already baby and cannot wait to have you home!!
